Small Wooden Box - Leather-lined

For that special look or just to add a little extra protection for the contents. A handcrafted wooden box with the internal base and underside of the lid lined with real leather along with a portion of the lower side walls.

Box shown constructed from red meranti hardwood with decorative brass-effect catch. Other woods as required. Two small brass barrel hinges complete the design. Finished with a buffing of hard wax.  More small boxes here.

Small Handcrafted Presentation Boxes

Need to present an item in more than a cardboard box?  Small wooden presentation boxes can be crafted in a range of styles and sizes.  Each box shown is different: where applicable the lids are typically shaped in a random (err 'artistic') fashion; more uniform boxes can of course be created.  

Shown here a selection of small boxes with walls and lid in 12mm red meranti.  Internally, the box base of plywood is lined with black cotton velvet.  A lining in real leather would be an alternative.

Lids shown either hinged at the rear on small pins through the side walls or held in place by small pairs of magnets.

Foam-lined Wooden boxes - Carving Set

Lid and base are fitted with charcoal-grey foam.  When closed, the contents are gently held in place by light pressure from the foam.  Please note that we do not supply foam with cut shapes.  Shown constructed from red meranti hardwood; available in other woods.  Shown with brass-effect hinges and one or 2 decorative brass-effect catches as required.

Tall Oak Leather-lined Presentation Box

This tall wooden custom presentation box is constructed from circa 18mm thick oak and is lined with real leather. The lid uses 2 brass barrel hinges that are hidden with the lid closed. Shown with a decorative brass-effect catch an alternative would be tiny magnets set into the rim and lid that would also be hidden with the lid closed.  Available in other woods, sized as required

Handcrafted Wooden Collection Box

A sturdy solid red meranti hardwood collection box (20mm thick wood) polished inside and out with a hard wax.  Internally reinforced mitre joint corners giving a robust box.  Shown with brass-effect pendent handles and hasp.  Available in oak for a lighter colour box and sized as required.  This design may be suitable for use as a small casket or ashes urn.  Available in other woods.

Wooden Mah Jong Rack

Shown in red meranti hardwood but available in woods to suit.  Each rack comprises 4 zones: the rear external edge for constructing a tile wall; a rear platform for displaying exposed pungs, chows and kongs; a central 45 degree rail for holding unexposed tiles; and 4 frontal compartments for 'money' sticks (if used).  The rack underside is polished enabling the rack to smoothly push forward a tile wall.  Various baize lining colours available. 

Mah Jong tiles and game not included.  Rack dimensions as required to suit tile sizes.

Handcrafted Wooden Invitation Card and Box

A design concept that could have a multiple set of uses: shown here in the form of a wooden invitation card that fits inside a 2-part wooden wallet that is held together by magnets.  The 'invitation card could be laser engraved or possibly some other form of block printing used.  Shown here crafted in solid wood - red meranti with a dark oak spirit wood stain.  As shown the 'invitation card' is 5mm thick.

Possible alternatives uses could be as a CD/DVD Jewel Case holder.  The wooden wallet need not be in 2 equal halves  A custom design with many variation options.

MDF Box

Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) offers great flexibility and potential cost-effectiveness in creating boxes; particularly where the box is to be painted and the MDF hidden from sight.   Shown with strip hinge.

Handcrafted Wooden Coin Collector's Box

A larger coin collector's box.  Shown in oak with internal real leather lining to the lid and base and a brass lock.  As shown, the box houses 7 removable wooden, leather-lined, trays each designed to hold a standard Lindner '2329' type velour-covered coin tray.   Lindner provide a range of such trays with different coin compartment arrangements.

Various options include the addition of box handles, replacement of the leather linings with cotton velvet, rare-earth magnet catches instead of the brass lock.  Other woods as required.

Laser engraving a name etc on, say, the lid would really personalize the box.

Handcrafted Wooden Boxes for Wood Carving

Sometimes, something important requires an extra special keepsake/memory box.  Here we were pleased to provide 2 custom wooden boxes in bare, unpolished, sycamore.  The boxes were then hand carved by the client to provide 2 unique, unusual and very personal memory boxes. 

We are always pleased to seek and hopefully provide a solution to a handcrafted box requirement.

Wooden Box with Padded Base

This box has a padded base insert that includes 2 small elastic straps suitable for lightly holding many items; for example, wrist watches, bracelets and Sgian Dubhs. {Rainnea Ltd for handcrafted Sgian Dubhs}

Although the box design can be modified, the internal dimensions are fixed at 225mm frontage and 50mm width due to the padding insert.  Shown in red meranti hardwood; available in different woods.  Catches, if required, could be magnetic  or small decorative brass-effect.  Personalise with optional laser engraving.

Wooden Presentation Case with Compartments

Showing a handcrafted oak wooden box designed, in this instance to display handmade knives of a certain size.  A glass lid (non-safety glass as shown) provides a full dimension view of the contents.  The lid hinges on 2 externally mounted electro-brass hinges and is shown with a single electro-brass clasp.  Base internally lined with black cotton velvet.  A flexible design.  Knives not included.

Wooden Tantalus Decanter Case

Showing a double-decanter tantalus case made to as required dimensions.  This version has a carrying handle that rotates circa 90 deg to enable the decanter to be easily removed.  This design feature was a 'nod' towards some traditional tantalus cases that had actual locking mechanisms securing the decanters.  Fixed handles also work well.  Number of decanter compartments as required - traditionally 2 or 3 we understand.  Shown in red meranti hardwood - other woods as required.  Decanters not supplied.  Box crafted to fit your decanters.

Wooden Display Case

This design shows a handcrafted oak wooden box with an opening glass-paned door at the front and a solid door at the rear.  Note, the glass, as shown, is not safety glass. A flexible design. Other woods as required.

Wooden Box - Special Purpose

This design - crafted in circa 20mm solid oak - demonstrates a solid oak base, optional internal partition and lid with internal leather lining.  Two pairs of rare-earth magnets make for a fairly firm catch.  This design is very suitable for fitting an internal brass lock if required. A very flexible design. Other woods as required.

Wooden Presentation

A simple design of presentation box that utilises a 'flat lid'.  Depending on the box depth (front to back) the lid would be crafted from several pieces of joined wood. Shown in red meranti hardwood with the internal base lined with black cotton velvet, small brass butt hinges and a single electro-brass clasp.  Other woods available.  A very flexible design.
